Extra Information The name 'keiskei' commemorates the Japanese botanist Ito Keisuke (1803-1900). Rh. keiskei is a very variable species. Some specimens from very high altitude are dwarf-rhododendrons like var ozawae (formerly var cordifolia) and its cultivar 'Yaku Fairy' barely 6 inches tall Taller forms can reach as much as 10 feet. There are a lot of cultivar and species names probably all about the same specimen.
