Extra Information | George Vasey was born in 1822 (-1893) in Snainton near Scarborough, England, the fourth of ten children. His family emigrated to the United States the next year, and they lived in Oriskany, New York. Two genus (Vaseya, now part of Muhlenbergia, and Vaseyanthus), as well as numerous species were named after him, like Rhododendron vaseyi. |
